LeadCraft Day – Invigorated Tech Leads Community

Concise has been building its tech lead community since last Autumn. We’ve seen a steady increase in research and training aimed at motivating and supporting our tech leads.

Our first full-day event, LeadCraft Day took place last week in Tartu. Participants had an opportunity to have their stake in Concise’s new Security Policy and vet the draft of our Junior Program.

“I’m glad that our tech leads saw the Junior Programme as an investment in the future of Concise,” said Concise’ Training and Development Manager Signe Oder. Tech leads brought out that by welcoming young talents into our teams, Concise has an opportunity to shape their growth from the very beginning, introduce them to our values and culture and make integration seamless.

The Junior Programme also offers growth opportunities to our senior team members, who will take on mentorship roles. Teaching and guiding juniors will push seniors beyond their daily tasks and bring loads of opportunities to learn.

Tech leads summarized that LeadCraft Day had a meaningful agenda, interactive exercises, good discussions in small groups, networking moments and overall, it served as an inspiring break from the daily challenges.

We finalized the day with a GPS orienteering on the streets of Tartu and topped it up with a sumptuous dinner

Concise legend Priit Pihus: why curiosity is the most important tool for developers and will AI take their jobs?
Priit believes that the most important quality in a developer’s career is curiosity. “If you don’t have that spark, it’s very difficult to be a great developer.” He himself has always been open to new challenges and accepts projects purely based on gut feeling and enthusiasm. “Projects find me because I can’t say “no”. I want to know what’s inside, maybe something can be improved, or maybe it’s the next big thing. I’m such a hopeless optimist and always very curious.”
